The Keywords screen

With Search Console connected, this lists the queries your site actually appears for, along with impressions, clicks, click-through rate and average position. It’s your real search footprint, not an estimate.

Sort by impressions to find pages that are seen but not clicked — those are usually a meta description problem, and they’re one-click fixable.

Researching new ones

Enter a seed term and you’ll get related queries with volume and difficulty indicators. It’s for finding gaps: topics adjacent to what you already cover, where you have some authority but no page.

Rank tracking

Add the keywords you care about and the plugin records their position on a schedule. Unlike the Search Console view, which is retrospective, tracking is deliberate — you choose what to watch.

Track fewer keywords than you think you need. Ten terms you genuinely care about tell you more than two hundred you never look at.

Reading the movement

Each tracked keyword shows current position, change since last check, and a sparkline over time. A few points of daily wobble is normal — Google’s results aren’t stable to the decimal.

What matters is direction over weeks. A steady slide is worth investigating; a two-position dip on a Tuesday is noise.

Positions are also cross-referenced with your Issues list, so if a page is sliding and has open errors, that connection is surfaced rather than left for you to spot.

What each part needs

Keywords from Search Console — needs the Search Console connection, nothing else.
Keyword research — needs a data provider key for volume and difficulty figures.
Rank tracking — needs a data provider key.

Without any keys, the rest of the plugin still runs 43 of the 46 checks. These screens simply stay empty rather than showing invented numbers.
